We went to a store tablet, & he pulled out a white ATT sim card from his back pocket.Īll done with the imei check passing & my info correct, there was a line in bold red with an x reading "feature aegb is duplicate with feature nout". Went to the ATT store asked about the plan, the cs rep explained that once i pay for that plan there's no refund, which i replied "that's why I'm here in the store, to make sure all's fine before even paying". MY plan was to get this plan in the pixel 5 & use it for usb tethering to a gl.inet slate router when need be, my laptop's dns over tls local dns server I believe is way too data intensive / heavy for tethering to fi's hotspot, worse should I use vpn or tor, (i'm on wifi at home & about in dc). I'm currently on google fi's flexible plan never went / going over $30 since having it. I'm more of a minimalist these days and didn't want to shell out for an extra hardware device when my pixel 5 could do as well. I went to an ATT store in chinatown / nw dc, to get this plan. It took a while on the phone getting bounced around to different people, but I was able to get it straightened out (assuming the $35 refud shows up on my credit card in a few days). When I logged in and checked my account, I was on the 15GB per month plan. The snafu on AT&T's site was that I got all the way through to the summary page where it said I had the 12 month plan, but charged my credit card $35 instead of $300. I can't test them back to back as my Verizon SIM is now deactivated, but I seem to be getting a faster connection with AT&T at a few spots in town (I ran a speed test at home and then when I was out running a few errands this afternoon) than I did with Verizon, so that's a nice bonus. I went to a local AT&T store this morning to get a SIM card I was expecting to pay $5 for it, but there was no charge.Įven though the 100GB plan is a better deal, I really don't need 100GB per month for my use, so I decided to save some money. I setup the AT&T 12 month 20GB prepaid mobile hotspot plan on my MOFI4500 today without any issues (other than a snafu on AT&T's website). Sent from my moto e5 (XT1920DL) using HoFo mobile app Wonder if it would work to sign up for the plan with an unlocked Netgear AC797S hotspot for example, and then swap the SIM to my Netgear LB1120 router? Īny issues with getting the Pepwave "approved" at the AT&T store when you first signed up for the plan? I haven't come across an officially approved BYOD list for AT&T that includes routers. My router doesn't receive texts for some reason even though it is supposed to so I had to put the SIM temporarily in a phone to receive the text. It will send a SMS text to the phone number of the device. In case you didn't know, to get online access to the account go here and use the forgot password link. It certainly looks like it would come back to life if I paid $55 now so maybe the one year thing is true. The "balance expired" words are kind of meaningless for this plan but I had also heard of the 59 day rule so I was expecting the SIM to be useless after that date but it's still prompting me to pay another $55. When I login to the account it said "Balance expires on Aug 28th". The month was up on June 28th so I assume it stopped working then. I wanted to know if it worked for future use. I only used it for a few days for some testing. I bought the AT&T 100 GB for $55 for my Pepwave on May 28th. I used chat with ATT and they said after 59 days I'd need a new SIM, but someone else said it would still reactivate for up to a year without use.not sure what is true. How do prepaid hotspot plans work if you don't use them all year - just a month here, a month there? Does ATT deactivate the SIM and you have to get a new SIM? What is the time limit of non-use? I just bought the AT&T 6962C Turbo Prepaid Hotspot from Walmart ($49) to use occasionally with the 100gb/$55 plan.
